Hoyer (D-5th MD), Press Release dated May 15, 2007   ALASA Academy is committed to taking a leadership role in providing educational and community services and promoting cultural diversity in Wayne County, NY.  Its open door policy embraces all who desire to provide an alternative form of learning prepardness for their children.   ALASA Academy works to provide affordable, first-class care and education by providing a broad range of integrated programs and services and innovative learning approaches.   It directs all of its programs towards individual student success. 

Within the next few years, ALASA Academy plans to expand its services beyond the current Summer Programs and offer an After School Program and eventually a Year-Round Learning Facility.  All of its offerings support an identified Vision and Mission that strives to prepare children for long-term success as adults.

Vision -  ALASA Academy seeks to provide access to an engaging, non-traditional, structured environment where all children can use exploration, creativity and technology to develop their full potential as healthy, happy, educated adults and contributing leaders of the world.

Mission - The ALASA Academy Learning Facility will allow children with the support of their parents and community to to reach mastery in traditional academic areas while using hands-on activities and technology to discover themselves as exciting, self-motivated, worthwhile individuals.  Students will work cooperatively with peers to solve provlems and discover new ideas.  Upon graduation they will have reached their full potential in both mind and body as demonstrated on both independent and standardized assessments.  This will be accomplished by an invididually designed curriculum that ecnompasses both student and parent input.
