Year number four - Children’s Summer Workshops

We have had three successful and rewarding summers at ALASA Academy and are continuing in 2008 with an even better program!  This year we are offering three Childrens Workshop sessions with an extended day that now runs from 8am - 3pm.  We will also be expanding our Field Trip program.  We eagerly await new faces and can’t wait to see old friends again.

After school program - Future plans

This spring we have been collaborating with local school and educational organizations to bring an after school program to ALASA Academy.  Students will learn on the farm, in the fields, streams, and forest, as well as  in the classroom. What is important to the student, is important to us.

Year Round Learning Facility - Future plans

As Director of ALASA Academy I envision an educational site based on the true foundation of our country where men, in this case children, are encouraged to live their lives as they want to without negatively impacting others.  Children must have their experiences from a very young age to be able to live them as adults. They must be free to learn and grow in an individualized, personal, supportive environment where learning is, not only fun, it is also connected to them and life around then.  Staff support will go beyond academic support to ensure academic skills.   It will include nurturing and true acceptance of the entire person as important and unique.  That’s what we strive for as adults and fight for as children.  Just to be “ME”.  It can be attained without “bullying” and extreme external statements that may be detrimental to the child now or in the future. At ALASA Academy students learn by doing.

LEARNING CAN BE FUN AND REWARDING!!!
